We had a very fun filled day. We discussed the holidays of Sukkot, Simchat Torah and Shemini Atzeret. We discussed the reasonings and common sense of these holidays which are thousands of years old.The class then did fun worksheets on the holidays.
Homework: Discuss and write with parents the quote from Albert Einstein. "The pursuit of knowledge for its own sake, an almost fanatical love of justice and the desire for personal independence, these are the features of the Jewish tradition which make me thank my stars that Ibelong to it."
We reviewed the Hebrew alphabet and vowels and then preceeded to take a quiz on the Hebrew Alphabet and vowels. We went over the prayer Ein Ka Mocha and its meaning and relevance to us.
Homework for Hebrew: Review letters and vowels, Go over first 4 lines of Ein Ka Mocha.
At the end of class we had a wonderful Sukkot experience of singing, eating and hearing stories by Moses and Miriam! It truly was a wonderful ending of our classes.
