It is a joy to be with your children on Sunday mornings. This week we proceeded in Hebrew by practicing the vowels and studying the letter Resh. Resh has an “R” sound.
The chapter in our textbook about Resh is on pages 37 to 40 in our Tiyulim textbook. Key words are Rosh (head) and Rav (Rabbi). For homework, please have your child read pages 38 and 39 aloud a few times. Should this assignment prove difficult for your child, I suggest that you work together on an earlier chapter of the book, and then move forward to our current level.
We heard a beautiful story about Tzedaka. Thanks to all of you who send in Tzedaka money. Giving Tzedaka is one of many mitzvot we celebrate at SSJS.
We read a book entitled “Just Enough and Not Too Much by Kaethe Zemach. It’s a fabulous story about a man named Simon who was quite content until he wanted more and more belongings. Please ask your child to retell the story.
As usual, we finish our class with Havdallah, a sensory and uplifting way to wish one another a good week. A Shavuah Tov to you as well.
