We had lots of fun in Sunday School today. Your children are bright, spirited and eager to share their insightful thoughts.
In Hebrew, we are working on letters combined with vowels. Hebrew vowels are found under the letter or, in some cases, to the left of a given letter. We studied NUN today and combined it with various vowels. Key words are Ner (candle) and Nerote (candles). Please have your child study chapter 8 and read page 30 aloud to you.
Continuing our Bible stories, we learned more about Ruth and Naomi. Ruth was devoted to her mother in law, Naomi. Arriving in a new place, Bethlehem, Ruth began to glean barley that was left behind by those harvesting. In this way, Ruth and Naomi obtained grain with which to bake. Kind Ruth was spotted by the owner of the fields, Boaz. Boaz soon after had a question for Ruth. Please ask your child to tell you about it.
During our snack break, some of the children did Yoga with me. Our poses were in the shape of Hebrew letters. What a relaxing way to integrate the Hebrew that we're learning!
I told a story with props that I hope your child will retell. Each child then created a mezuzah for his or her room. When affixing the mezuzah, place it on the right of the doorpost with the top pointed in. Thank you! Peek inside the mezuzah, and you'll find the Shema and V'Ahavta prayers on parchment paper.
Have a wonderful week. Love, Mindy
