Today our class took time to get to know each other and learn about what we will be doing together this year. We created our circle time mat, practiced Hebrew yoga and read Sammy The Spider's First Rosh HaShanah. Then we ate some apples and honey during snack to taste the sweetness of the foods together, while hoping for a sweet new year. Most importantly, we talked about how Rosh HaShanah, the Jewish new year, is a good time to think about how we may want to improve ourselves in the coming year. We had a short, but entertaining, conversation about ways we could learn new things and improve our behavior with friends and family.
Your kids definitely enjoy their snack time so please send keep sending it-maybe more than you think they'll actually eat!
If you have Lincoln Logs or other similar building materials, please bring them in October. We'll be making our own mini Sukkot.
