This is Ellie Smith’s fourteenth year as a teacher in the Sunday School.
Before coming to our school, she taught for many years at Temple Emeth in Chestnut Hill. Ellie holds a Master’s Degree in Judaic Studies from Hebrew College, where she was the Hebrew Valedictorian. She has made fifteen visits to Israel, and is a student of the Ulpan at Hebrew College, where she studies Hebrew language. Ellie is the recipient of the Louis Hillson Memorial Award and the Dr. Moses J. Steiner Prize for Excellence in Hebrew Literature from Hebrew College. She is a Meah graduate, winner of the Keter Torah Award from the Bureau of Jewish Education, and recipient of the Light of Torah award from Temple Emeth. She also earned an additional Certificate of Jewish Studies from Hebrew College, and has been a presenter at the Conference for Jewish Educators.
Ellie is delighted to return to the Sunday School where she will teach fifth grade.
