I am excited to work with your children who are just beginning Hebrew and those who need a small group refresher and a solid boost to understand decoding and reading the magic of Hebrew.
Each week the students who work with me will review the previous learning as we build onto more exciting letters, vowels and words that help us understand Hebrew and participate in Hebrew holidays and festivals.
Please help support this in making sure your child reads the 5X3 method:
Reading Hebrew 5 minutes a day choosing 3 days a week to do it. The frequency of Hebrew practice is more important than the length of practice in order to retain and practice Hebrew (Note: Hebrew practice should be read aloud rather than looking through the book).
Weekly assignments of reading will be given to the students as well as posted on line. I am looking forward to a sweet New Year as we begin another great year at the Sunday School for Jewish Studies. La Shana Tova!
We began with all classes (5th, 3rd and 6/7th) starting with the book and learning the direction in which Hebrew is read. In all classes we completed the first two letters Bet and Tav as well as the first two vowel sounds that make the sound -"Ah".
In the 6/7 grade class, because it is a refresher class, we are trying to find a good place to start. If a student learned it and really "owns it" we will be moving on to the next challenge.
