We continued our look at the Middle East Map. The students reviewed the names of the countries surrounding Israel and the Arab countries in the Middle East.
We then began our study of Rosh Hashanah by reading Lily’s Purple Plastic Purse, a story that illustrates how difficult it can be to wait to present at school, what happens when a student does not wait, how anger can lead to actions that may require later apologies, how to handle anger, and what makes an apology.
For Hebrew, the students were divided into leveled groups so they can work to learn letter-sound matches as they develop the skills needed to read.
For Homework, the students will be asking you what foods might be special for Rosh Hashanah. If you do not know and can, please help your student to use the internet to find some information. Also, we are collecting Tzedakah each Sunday, so if you can work out a special chore for your student to earn Tzedaka money, that would be great.
Have a nice week. Mrs. Y and Mr. Y
