What does the phrase “acts of loving kindness” mean?
We had a great morning today! After our usual community gathering and music class, we went back to our classroom and worked on a project to be donated. We made tie blankets and the students worked together beautifully! We also made cards to go along with the fleece blankets. Students learned that this “act of loving kindness” is called Gimilut Chasadim. After creating these presents for those in need, we got right to working on Hebrew reading and writing. Have a nice few weeks and enjoy your break!
Congratutions for the 4th grade putting on a wonderful play! Everyone contributed equally as we had many stage managers and directors all helpingout. We learned the bracha over eating snacks. donuts and had an amazing game of Dreidel. Fourth graders did a wonderful job up on stage singing for the holiday. Thank you parents who contributed to the in- class Chanukah celebration!
Hello families, There was a lot of energy in the air this morning in anticipation of Chanukah starting tonight! We had a great morning talking about Chanukah, singing Chanukah songs and rehearsing for our Chanukah play (that will be next Sunday December 9). In Hebrew we reviewed the letters and vowels we had previously learned and we also added a few new letters as well. Wishing everyone a very happy Chanukah!
We had a great morning! After our usuall community gathering and music class, we talked about G-d and explored the question "Does G-d know what I'm thinking or what I'll do?" After our G-d talk discussion we talked about thanksgiving and how it is related to Jewish holidays. We decided that thanksgiving is the closest related to sukkot because they both are holidays that celebrate the harvest. After our discussion we created art work that had the Hebrew word for thank you (todah) in the middle and then students wrote/drew what they were thankful for around it. The pictures were beautiful so make sure you ask them to show you. Finally, we wrapped up our morning together with Hebrew lessons. My class reviewed the letters and vowels we have been working on. We will start a new set of letters after the break. Happy thanksgiving! See you all in 2 weeks.
I can’t believe that it is already November and that we started talking about Chanukah today! After our community gathering and music class, we started talking about Chanukah and discussed the story of Chanukah! We also talked about Jewish symbols and what those symbols represent. Students started making a collage of Jewish symbols and will be working on those more in 2 weeks when we meet next. We ended our morning with Hebrew and my class Worked on reviewing letters and vowels that they learned last week by playing games and completing matching exercises on the front board. Looking forward to seeing you all in two weeks! Enjoy sleeping in next Sunday!
