Today the first graders studied about the holiday of Simchat Torah. They made model Torahs for the holiday project. They also added a new song to the book of holiday poems and songs they are compiling. In addition to learning about the holiday of Simchat Torah, they continue to learn the Hebrew alphabet. Today they learned hay and vav. You can ask your child why the Torah is called the "tree of life". How many times to people march around the synagogue on this holiday and how long does it take to read through the entire Torah?
Next week please bring your child directly to the classroom (rm124). We will then go as a class to the opening assembly. Looking forward to seeing your children next week.
