The first graders had a very busy day of learning. The letters alef, bet and vet were reviewed and gimel and daled were introduced. We also learned about the holiday of Yom Kippur. We talked about saying sorry for our mistakes and trying to do better in the new year. The read-aloud for the day was the story of Jonah and the Big Fish. We talked about what we can learning from the story. The children made a project to go with the story.
Although the SSJS does not supply snack, the children are welcome to bring a light snack. We have a short break in the middle of the session. Most children bring a snack and have a brief time to socialize and get to know their classmates.
