More Than a School . . . A Community

The Sunday School strives not only to offer a high-quality Jewish education but also to create a sense of community. The Parent Board of Trustees sets policy for the Sunday School. Board meetings are always open to all parents. The board plans special events, reviews the curriculum, and discusses and decides on budgetary matters. We regularly examine Sunday School ideas and ideals in an effort to shape a program that meets the needs of our families. Throughout the school year, the board sponsors a variety of activities for parents, such as lectures, cooking classes, book club, and Bar/Bat Mitzvah preparation. We also encourage families to participate in tzedakah (charity) activities, such as visiting a soup kitchen, delivering canned goods to a local charity, and participating in the Walk for Hunger.
